Our primary mandate is to cultivate climate-resilient food production systems. We combine field-level crop science with regional resource forecasting to protect vulnerable farming communities from environmental risks and sudden market shifts.

We serve as the centralized regional anchor for digital agriculture infrastructure. By analyzing post-harvest processing metrics, dairy value chains, and nutritional data, we build transparent tools that guide sustainable economic growth.
Evolutionary Milestones
Phase I: Institutional Inception & Regional Launch
Hosted at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), CE-AFSN launched with core funding from international development partners to bridge the gap between agricultural research and public policy. We established our baseline databases and began community-level nutrition mapping in Mozambique.
Phase II: Logistical Scale & Agritech Expansion
We expanded our research capabilities to track post-harvest food losses and optimize cross-border agrifood trade routes. During this phase, we rolled out competitive research grants ($15,000–$30,000) and launched postgraduate academic mobility exchanges.
Phase III: Unified Digital Platforms & Global Integration
Today, the center deploys open-source mobile tools and data dashboard platforms. These tools provide local smallholder farmers with real-time livestock advisory services and market information while offering global partners instant access to critical data.
